Sowan Hong

The 2022 Saïd MBA the prize was awarded to Sowan Hong from Australia. Sowan started her career as a consultant at KPMG where she got qualified as a chartered accountant and worked across Sydney, Edinburgh and London offices. Subsequently, she worked at Legal & General Investment Management delivering financial planning and management for workplace pensions business.

After 9 years of career she took a career break to pursue an MBA at Oxford Said Business School to learn and explore opportunities in investment, strategy and organisational management. During this period Sowan also worked for a health tech start up as an interim head of finance. In the last term of the MBA Sowan completed an internship at a private equity firm, Hermes GPE, which led to a full time position at the firm post graduation. At Hermes GPE Sowan focuses on investment strategy, co-investments and fund investments across Europe. She is an Australian national and speaks fluent English and Korean.
