Jurie Jean van der Vyver

The 2019 Saïd MBA the prize was awarded to Jurie Jean van der Vyver (JJ) from South Africa. His working background includes qualification as a Chartered Accountant (South Africa), assurance work with Deloitte in Johannesburg, and most recently strategy consulting with Monitor Deloitte. He has practiced various forms of meditation over several years, trained in traditional plant medicine in Peru and led workshops that cultivate emotional and spiritual intelligence.

The MBA enabled JJ to explore the intersection between business strategy and human personal development. He has gone on to pursue a career in business consulting, and currently works as a Consultant at Visual Meaning, a team of visually trained business analysts and consultants who specialise in creating shared meaning to enable business change and whole-system transformation.
