The Saïd Foundation’s Annual Dinner and Alumni Award ceremony took place on Saturday 23 April at the Hurlingham Club in London.  The dinner was attended by friends and partners of the Foundation, scholars from Syria, Palestine, Lebanon and Jordan who are being supported for postgraduate studies at universities across the UK, and MBA and DPhil students from the Saïd Business School.

Mr Gonzalo Vargas Llosa, UNHCR Representative in the UK, spoke about the Foundation’s support of the DAFI scholarship programme for Syrian refugee students in Lebanon and Jordan and speeches were also made by students, Hangwani Muambadzi of the Said Business School and Hani Jesri of Oxford University.

Chairman, Wafic Saïd, presented the Said Foundation Alumni Achievement Prize to Syrian alumna Nadine Kaadan in recognition of her unique contribution to Arabic children’s literature and her promotion of Syrian culture and heritage.
