Khaled Hosseini, the bestselling author of the Kite Runner, is a Goodwill Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. In the video below he thanks the trustees of the Said Foundation for extending their support to the UN Refugee Agency UNHCR. The Foundation will fund scholarships for Syrian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon with a further pledge of US$1.8m.
This pledge will support a second cohort of one hundred student scholarships, increasing to two hundred the total number of young Syrian refugees being supported for undergraduate degree studies at universities in Lebanon and Jordan by the Foundation.
