The Said Foundation would like to congratulate our alumna Itab Azzam, one of the producers on the BBC’s documentary Exodus: Our Journey to Europe which recently won the BAFTA award for the Best Factual Series. Itab produced Israa’s story, a little girl from Syria who she followed for more than a year. Israa and her family made the perilous journey from Syria, across Europe to Germany and the documentary highlighted the dangers of this terrifying journey that so many desperate families continue to make on a daily basis. The documentary also features one of our current students, Ahmed Al Rashid, who travelled from Syria to the UK and is currently studying for his masters degree in London with a Said Foundation scholarship.
