Medical Aid for Palestinians

The Saïd Foundation is supporting Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) in addressing urgent water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) needs in Gaza. The collapse of WASH infrastructure in Gaza and the ongoing displacement has created severe public health risks, leaving the population with extremely limited access to clean water and sanitation services.

Only one of the three major water pipelines remains partially operational, with the others inactive since the the conflict began. This has resulted in a critical shortage of clean water, with emergency water trucking and a limited number of functioning desalination plants struggling to meet the needs of more than 1.2 million people. Inadequate sanitation has led to undignified living conditions and the spread of waterborne diseases such as hepatitis A, diarrhoea, and cholera.

Our support enables MAP to improve access to safe drinking water for thousands of displaced individuals living in scattered shelters and informal camps across Gaza.
